Eat & Drink
Most of Sitka's food is within a few blocks of Harrigan Centennial Hall: a no-tip chef's counter, a long-running bistro on Katlian, dumplings, coffee roasters and two fishermen's bars, with a brewery a short walk out and a crab counter at the cruise terminal.
Highliner Coffee
Coffee house on Seward Street that opens at 6am every day, early enough for passengers off the first shuttle.
The BackDoor Café
Small café tucked behind Old Harbor Books, serving espresso and baked goods; Fodor's calls it a cozy, politically progressive hangout.
WildFlour Café & Bakery
Bakery-café in Seward Square turning out French pastries, breads and pressed sandwiches.
Walking map: the shuttle stop and downtown Sitka
The free shuttle from the cruise terminal stops at Harrigan Centennial Hall on Harbor Drive, and tenders land at Crescent Harbor beside it. St. Michael's Cathedral and Castle Hill are a few minutes west along Lincoln Street, the Russian Bishop's House is a few minutes east, and the totem trail in Sitka National Historical Park is about 15 to 20 minutes on foot at the east end of the street.
